Walnut Grove believes in
supporting missions to other nations as well as supporting the mission
fields of our own home town. Although we have involvement with several
missionaries, our primary support goes toward Mike Patton Ministries.
Evangelist Mike and
Pamela Patton reside in Dayton. They have been heavily involved with
Honduras since 2001. They now have several churches that they support
in Honduras, a school... that now goes to the 9th grade, and the New
Beginnings feeding program which now feeds over 300 children a day. |

Mike
and his teams have preached in several villages with well over a
thousand people being saved. They have given out thousands of Bibles to
churches and schools. They would like to thank everyone that has
supported them with the finances to provide Bibles for the people that
may not have had the opportunity to purchase a Bible of their own.
Mike and Pamela travel to Honduras at least twice a year... in 2006
they made three trips. In March of this year they took their first
trip of the year with several of our church friends. With them
pictured below are Doris Jordan, Eddie and Lynn Dotson, Jeff Moore, and Jamie
Hughes. Mike and Pamela have a very dear friend and a Brother in
Christ that travels with them to do the translating... and he shares in
their vision... John Taylor, also pictured below. The March trip was marked as a success.
Their goal was to build church pews for the churches that they support.
This goal was met. Praise God!
They
have several other ongoing projects that they were able to check
up on such as... New Beginning Program (feeding program), San Diego
Project (giving out Bibles), Proyecto Pollo (chicken farm), Weaving the
Future (sewing machines), Jardin de Edin (the garden), and Luke 4:18
Project (giving out eye glasses). All of these programs are programs
that have been put in place within the last 5 years. All are doing well
and you can find out more about any of these programs by calling Mike
or Pamela at 423-775-5227 or emailing them at mpmgod4u@aol.com. They
are planning their next visit to Honduras on September 15th of this
year. Please keep them and their Honduras family in your prayers.
Mike
and Pamela along with Pastors Eddie and Diane traveled to Mexico to
meet up with Missionaries Dave and Maria Skinner in May. They were able
to see first hand all the things that this ministry is involved in.
Dave Skinner is involved with Network Bible Translators and Global
Force in Mexico, Ukraine and other countries which Walnut Grove also
supports. You can find out more about this work at www.nbt.org.
One
other ministry that Walnut Grove supports is Gerald Holloway, of Word
for the World Ministry, in the Philippines and India. Gerald and his
wife have been on the mission field for at least 20 years. Please visit
them on the web at www.wordfortheworld.com.
